They want jobs here to jump on the gravy train and they think they're going to get amnesty.

No Compromise, No Amnesty!

The shops are moving to Mexico because they can pay them a dollar a day not 20.00 per hour. A lot of them work there so the can live in a shack, metal, cardboard you name it no running water,no bathrooms. Have you ever gone there and if you did, did you even leave the border town. Most that do come come to work not collect welfare. Would you like a job picking our fruits and veggies here in the USA, I'm sure they would hire you if you are willing to work like that for those wages and no insurance. Were all your ancestors from America? NO. Unless you are Indian. America is a melting pot. When they came here they came for a better life and didn't know our language right away. Give these people a break. If they come here legally leave them alone. I do think they should come here the right way and I believe most of them in America do.

I know. Many companies are moving but still there's more better jobs here than in Mexico. Over there, it's hard. The wages are low...really low....most people don't have time to rest because they have to work extra. Eating out is hardly done and people are lucky if they own a tv. The president of Mexico hasn't done anything to help the situation. The govt. over there is so corrupted.......someone should do something.

You obviously don't know how it is down there in Mexico huh. I am not a Mexican and never been to Mexico, but you must be real closed to not know the answer to this question. In Mexico, if you are poor you will live for the rest of your life and all your family and future generations will be too. All they want is to know how it feels to eat good food everyday, they want to feel good and know that they have a home and a job to support them.

NOTE FOR ALL THE WHITE RACISTS: Wear the shoes of these people for once, eat bread, just bread for a week and see, wear poor clothes work the whole day for $6, raise a family like this. This is just for one week, this is how they live everyday!!!!

you would think wouldn't you? The problem is they are trying to chase the businesses that create jobs down there out. On the news yesterday they reported a large group of protesters trying to chase a Walmart from being built out. this Walmart will create 140 jobs but they protest because a few local farmer will be impacted. they don't seem to understand that you can't have it both ways, you can either have the jobs or the local farmers, but not both. so they illegally enter the country on the premise that they need jobs, but they could have worked in their own country if they would quit chasing employers out.

Eight hundred young Nike workers sewing sweatshirts for Georgetown, UNC and other schools walked out on strike to protest poverty wages and denial of their rights in Mexico. Workers have also documented child labor at the plant... When workers stood up for their rights, police and thugs attacked them, sending over 15 workers to the hospital... Workers walked out to protest the firing of five workers for protesting rotten food in the cafeteria, low wages (75 cents an hour), and the failure of the company to pay the Christmas bonus in accordance with Mexican labor law. In independent interviews with members of United Students Against Sweatshops, workers also report physical and verbal abuse, the unwillingness of the company to pay maternity benefits, failure by the company to pay extra wages for overtime hours, attempts by the company to impose forced overtime, and serious safety and health violations. (http://www.behindthelabel.org/nike0101/news011501.html). This is the case at other companies too. This might explain why they want to come here.

Go to Mexico, the average Mexican makes 5 US dollars a day. Why wouldn't they work elsewhere and make at least that an hour.

Got me. Outsourcing has gotten rid of so many jobs here. Now American and Mexicans are fighting for the same low paying menial jobs.

You have no idea what Mexico lacks for opprotunity. A job at Wallmart would be the bigtime for them in Mexico. Manager at a Mac Donnalds would be considered upper middle class down there. The thought of a luggage handler for a 4 star hotel having medical and dental is unheard of. Just visit the country once and you will see what I mean.
