I'm over 40, and I was saved and baptised at 12. I went astray in my adult life, but, a few years ago, I almost died. I had an eye opening experience. I'm back with the Lord, happily, happier than I have been in years really.
I'm glad you asked this question, I have a 12 yr old daughter and an 11 yr old son, both very into wanting to know everything they can about God, and Jesus, and Heaven and hell. It could be a result of my near death experience, eithr way, I'm glad for them.
I think people in their 20's and 30's tend to vear away sometimes. The single party life is very tempting, and fun, but it gets old.

Definitely. Over 50. I too was saved at a young age but went astray for some years. Being away from God made me feel empty inside and nothing could fill that void. Then I started to feel the urge to go back to God for some reason. Then I found out how much I needed him. I had 2 heart attacks resulting in 5-bypasses and 2 stents put in my heart at 48 yrs old. He was calling me back to prepare me. I was filled with so much love and joy and peace that I can't describe it. My last words to my husband as they took me into the O.R. was "I'm NOT afraid". He told me that scared him more than anything because he knew I was ready to die and be with Jesus. Yes, age does effect our beliefs, but so does knowing you might die. You need to know where you are going and so do your loved ones. They only gave me a 12% chance of pulling through the surgery. Yes, I believe I received a miracle. Praise God!

That is a very good point. I think it does. I am 41 and use my life experiences to help me with my belief. When I was younger there was alot I didn't believe nor want to believe. As I have gotten older and have a family my belief system has totally changed.

34 here - I think beliefs change with situations, age being a factor. If you mean from a religious standpoint, I suppose it's possible. I doubt, in my own case, that I would be more likely to start holding a religious belief at 40, since I don't believe in it now.

I am 24 and there are some things I have always held strong in my beliefs. And as I get older, I read more and see more on T.V.about the same beliefs I am Strong in and I do wonder why and how they have become so Mis lead and Mis treated.and ignored. And I know just by that it will be more of wondering and wanting to know as I age ...

Age, in and of itself, has some effect, but beliefs are based on a combination of what we learned as a child (from parents, school, etc.) and what we have observed and decided on our own. My beliefs have changed quite a bit through the years based on things that have happened, influential people in my life, and my own thinking/logic process.

Myself, I was saved at an early age, churched, and educated in a Christian school. It wasn't until mid-adolescence that I chose to walk away. Then, as I grew older and matured some, I realized that He had been there all along. Having kids especially changed my focus, and I finally acquiesced to God's will for my life.
It dawned on me, only with age, that He had been in control all along, and still had His original plans for me. I still have the same faith, but had bypassed the emotional & spiritual maturity while attaining the physical and mental.

I don't think it is the age, it's just the individual in general. Like their experiences and stuff. Like you'd see an old person becoming more religious because they think their nearly dying so it is safer to do so. But I've also seen so much young people who have done really bad things in their life, and suddenly they are REALLY interested in Islam, and become more religious than most born muslims, and sometimes more so than adults. But I don't think it is the age at all.

I am 46, and I can tell you it hasn't effected my belief. I became I Christian when I was 19. I do know though that I do have a deeper relationship with my Savior now than I did when I first be came a Christian.

it shouldnt change your beliefs at all. unless you didnt have God in your life then yes. But it really doesnt have anything to do with age. you can be 5 and believe in God or you can be 90 and believe in God, Doesnt matter.
