The basis of faith is truth. So a saving faith is the truth about salvation. Knowing and believing is faith not just one or the other but both. Just knowing about Jesus is not faith. Just believing your saved but not knowing is not faith. Knowing that Jesus died for your sins and that God has forgiven you and believing this is true for you is true faith.

I couldn't have faith in something that was random. It's too unstable. No foundation. I have faith in God because I have a personal relationship with Him. I know he's there - I dont have to have faith to know He's there. Faith is what I use when I stand on the promise of God when the circumstances around me look grim.

Faith in randomness guarantees no positive outcome. Faith in God allows you blessed assurance. Because He sees all things from the end to the beginning you can be assured that in following His will you will always have the best outcome. Even when things look dark now, they will always get better. Just know that "not now" doesn't necessarily mean "no".

Faith is our ultimate positive response to Gods work and revelation in every single persons life. Where does faith come from? I would have to say our heart which is what it is.

The basis of all faith is the feeling of validity.
If you don't have the feeling of validity, it doesn't matter what proofs you are shown, you won't believe.
If you have the feeling of validity something stated in the New Testament can be proved by a statement in the Old.

Randomness means two clear things:

no clear owner of action

thus no clear reason for it to be...other than just ...be.

Where as a supreme being, adds meaning to your life.

Things are not random, they have reasons, and you have a reason for being here.

Randomness is the absence of will.
