5 insurance is paying money against the percieved risk, any factor that a company thinks is going to affect the amount of risk they are exposed to will increase the premium you have to pay. So profession is a significant factor, age is a also, as is number of miles driven per year, as is past driving history.

Some study showed that women have more accidents than men, but that they're accidents cost much less, stereotypically they will bump another car at 5mph in a carpark while a man's claim could involve a couple of write offs.

I'm guessing from the differing quotes you are young, and sadly young men have the highest fatality rate, 17-25 make up 1/8th of road users but 1/4 of fatalities.

If some insurance company decided to offer significantly cheaper car insurance to males than they currently do, and started to make money off it, you can be sure the others would follow. But they haven't, and I'm guessing they won't.

I'm an insurance agent, and so I know this to be true: women generally get cheaper rates if all other factors are the same. Also--in Texas the rate goes down for men at age 25 and for women at age 21. This may differ by state. In general (not in all cases) women have fewer big wrecks than men, so that is definitely a factor.

underwriters base their premiums on the trend that they encounter accident wise, now the insurance company is not being sexist, not in the least, its sad to say but most fatal are accidents are caused by males, especially in the 17 21 category, now the premiums do decrease for males once you start getting older and the no claims bonus earned along to way also cuts down your insurance, now it would idiotic if a insurance company did not check the past claims history and base their premiums on that, there is no such thing as being sexiest if a female requests car insurance and has 2 fault claims that her insurance company paid out then she would be a higher risk than a male of the same age no accidents, insurance is a risk transfer, you are transferring your risk on to them in exchange for set figure where as the company have to cover you in accident that you are deemed at fault, and believe me this amount is a lot higher than any premium you have to pay

deepest organizations can value what ever the marketplace will undergo, and statistically youthful male drivers, as a collection, are the worst. that is not discrimination, that is purely sound employer ideas. in view that maximum coverage organizations grant "solid scholar" mark downs, fairly of complaining about something you won't be able to do something about, attempt interpreting problematical in college, and get solid grades. That way you may earn that "solid scholar" low-priced and offset a number of those larger prices you should pay. in case you plan to have a automobile of your human being this style of automobile you force will also impact your prices, so pick a very good, strong, USED, 4 cylinder automobile in inventory condition for the decrease prices. Addendum to Chris: My, we are a smooth youthful guy, are not we. i replaced into not assuming that you're a adverse scholar, i replaced into purely making a press release. The "solid scholar" low-priced is in a good number of cases contained in the 5 - 10 % decision. call the coverage service you plan to apply and ask them extremely

Car insurance quotes are usually cheaper for females than males. Females are not usually wild or agressive behind the wheel like we men are. Im not kidding, thats the way it is and why females are cheaper to insure.
