I am looking for radical changes to the site design that could improve user involvement with the Wikipedia community.

G'day Graphix,

Thank you for your question.

I am an active participant and admin on Wikipedia. One of the most important issues is verifiabiility and ensuring we have sources for everything in the articles. It is improving although we have a far bit of work to go.

The other issue is developing stable articles so that visitors see articles without vandalism. I understand that the boffins are working on that as we speak.

I will be interested to see what others have to add.

Regards

If it's the site design you want to change, you could think about making it more obvious that users can edit. Many people don't realise this and the tiny [edit] tab is lost amongst dozens of other links in the interface and possibly hundreds of links in the article.

An alternative skin for newcomers would make a lot of sense since not everyone needs to see the advanced editing features straight away.

I love wikipedia. It's a great reference for anything. Some people do not value it as much as an encyclopedia, maybe because don't trust the sources. A form of information verification would solidify wikipedia's reputation. I would suggest that people be able to vote "believe" or "don't believe", so a wiki with a higher percentage of "believes" be less disputable.

Have someone(s) verify all the information to be correct, (which much of it isn't).
