I remember seeing a quote, many years ago, that was something like this:

"Even a rabbit will turn to fight when cornered by the hounds; a final throwback to a fiercer age."

That's obviously not exactly right, but that was the idea -- a gentle animal would, in the moment of death, fight back against insurmountable odds, as if remembering a time in its genetic history when it was not so gentle.

Can anyonetell me where this is from, or the words of the exact quote?
