Your doctor can prescribe a statin for you to help and for yourself you can add omega 3 fatty acids (I take fish oil tablets).

Oh yes, keep fit as well.

A healthy diet and daily exercise. It will reduce your LDL and cause your HDL to go up. One hour of cardio will do it. For me it was an hour on the treadmill.
