Scientologists, creationists, evangelicals, baptists. I could go on. In the UK, the majority of people I know (and indeed the country) have no religion.
I think it is because we live in the 21st century. Come on America, wake up and smell the reality of the 21st century.

to TL.
What is that nonsense about UK's population declining? It is growing by over 100 000 per year.
You are the prime example of the nonsense I mentioned.

Crumbs, you really are a wacko bunch.
Apart from one or two though.

What happened on 9/11 doesn't make you lot any less crazy though.
Bush's army has killed many more people than died in 9/11. Including British soldiers in friendly fire, and a British Journalist, Terry Lloyd, killed by US Marines.
I'm going to vote for best answer in 10 mins so the whackos won't get further chances to vent their crazy nonsense.

*waggles fingers* Atheist and American here. But still, you do have a point. Sure there is religion in the UK, but everytime I go over there alot more people have no religion than here in the US.

Hey dude, yeah you with the funny mustache, I'm awake, alive, and I live in the USA. Their not all like that. There are a lot of us not into religion. It just seems that way because religion here is big on running it's mouth about what it's got. You know, that American Yank thing. And I've been to the UK and you folks have religions over their too. Christianity, Muslim you name it you got it. If you'd stay out of the pubs long enough you might realize it.

Faith is not pertinent to any century, the hypocricy/crackpot issue is about using a religion (take your pick) to justify your own personal desires, which at least some religions are entirely against, in other words the "biggest sinner" is the one who uses a religion for personal gain, kinda ironic, aint it? And the ones who feel it's their duty to bring about "end times" or rule the world, those are the nutjobs that make me hope there is a God to protect us. There are a lot of people out there who are afraid to admit their religous beliefs simply for fear of ridicule, which Hollywood works fulltime at. Study the odds of life or universe or even this nation happening to come into existance, and you can't help but wonder about "miracles". PS The reality of the 21st century, mainly nuke weilding nut jobs seeking to create end times armageddon, STINKS!

Please don't disturb the faithbots. If they evolve, who will polish the bowling lanes? Who will drive the tow trucks? Who will rent the trailers in the trailer courts? Who will pay Benny Hinn's hairspray bill? And if they cease to believe in an afterlife they might actually want something in this life! They might figure out that nothing trickles down in trickle down economics, that socialized medicine is cheaper and higher quality, and George Bush really loves Unocal and not the baby Jesus. You will upset the natural order wherein the 2% of Americans who think critically manipulate and rule over the 98% who criticize thinking. So go have one of those obscene tasting shandies or something and leave our deltas alone.

When you have FREEDOM to believe in whatever you choose to believe in, you will have some extremists in your mix. Generalizing a culture based on the extremists is just as "crazy" as the extremists themselves. And if the American "crazy religious people" are your main concern, maybe you should turn on CNN and see some of the other "crazy fanatics" stapping bombs to their children and sending them into cafe's and shopping centers in the name of their belief. Oh yeah and the money they get from their "groups" as payment to show their "belief".
As for smelling the reality of the century...Americans are fully aware...does 9-11-01 ring a bell or did you miss the news on that one as well???

The reason the Pigrams came to America was for religious reasons. We are a country built on Religions. We don't all believe the same things, but in America we are blessed with the choice.
God is Reality!!! In every century!!

There are a bunch of wacko evangelicals here. They are nuts, but they haven't flown any planes into towers. Those are the most crazy religious nut-jobs, and they are not American.
