anyone can biologically produce/father a child, that is, provide the sperm to create life. but not everyone can take on the parental responsibility to love, nurture, teach, and care for their child. it takes much more of a man to be a dad to his children, than simply procreate.

Well personally completely disagree with it.

My dad died when i was 2 and to me no one can be a father or a dad unless they are your original parent. I have had older men in my life try to be the best ''dad'' they could be for me because mine is not there but that didn't work out. Maybe someone else may have a different opinion but coming from a girl who has ne dad and have had people in her life try to be a father it doesn't work. Also a father and a dad are the same they are both half of what made you.

Fathering a child is a biological process that any man can perform under the right circumstances. However, being a dad takes lot more. A dad is the role model for the child to provide for the child's emotional, physical and spiritual growth. A dad sustains hope, comfort, strength, wisdom and love in a child's life.

a father would be anyone who produces a child through a woman. a DAD is a FATHER who rears up his child in a way that when he grows up, he will never depart from these teachings. a DAD showers his child with love and makes him/her feel that everything will be alright because he is around. a DAD disciplines his child not through fear but through respect and makes the child understand that these are not punishments but are acts of love to correct a wrongdoing so that he/she grows up to be a worthy person. a DAD stands up to his responsibilities as a FATHER, not only financially, but also physically and emotionally. a DAD is a FATHER whom a child can call a HERO!

Story. My baby's father took off when he found out I was pregnant. He never saw him until he was 2..then he bought him a 1.00 car from the dollar store. He was forced to pay child support and called me every year.not to see how his son was or talk to him but to ask me to drop the 25.00 a week child support order. In my child's 6 years..I heard from here 3 times..He only saw his son once in 6 years. He's a father...he's everything but a dad.

It takes more than ability to procreate to raise children. Just because a man and woman come together at the right time of the month does not mean the man will stay r be a productive part of a child's life.

Pretty much what most people have said. Anyone can become a father, it doesn't take much to inpregnate a lady but it takes much much more to be a daddy to that child. To teach them to ride a bike, to hold them upside down by thier ankles, to bail them out when they run out of money at university!

I have a friend with two children and I always ask him about them, he doesn't see them much. I remember him getting upset once and saying "I'm thier father but not thier daddy".

Kind of like above - a father procreates the child - a dad raises
a child with all the love he can give.
