Im 20 years old and I date older men, not exclusively but my friends and family have a huge problem with it. I have a daughter my own place and Im not using the men I date as sugar daddies,I Just end up with older guys because most people my age dont have the responsiblity of raising a child and their not at that point in life or ready to settle down, so its harder to date them. What do you guys think about younger women dating older men or vise versa?

I thinkthat if you are mature enough and you feel that you are compatible with older men more, then there's no problem. It's just a number after all. women are generally more mature then men, so i think it's good to have a bit of an age difference. If a man is kind, considerate and respectful, then age shouldn't come in to it. You obviously relate to them more, because they can identify with you etc... and they have faced more responsibilities in their life then someone younger. Older men are also more secure and confident in themselves, as they have accomplished more or less everything they want career wise, and in terms of relationships, they have made mistakes- learned from them, so they are less likely to make them again. They are also more keen to settle down, and if that is what you want, then perhaps dating older men is better for you. Just as long as you share the same outlook and perspectives on life, it should be fine. Your family shouldn't object- after all your happiness is what matters. do what makes you happy, and what's best for your daughter.

Everyone has ideas of what appeals to them and there are a few different focuses about why to date someone. Older men are often more grounded in values and in responsibility than many younger men. You could find some young men who have gotten a glimplse of the cat-mouse game played these days and may opt for someone who offers more; I don't know the odds on this but theoretically, it could happen. And besides, there are plenty of women who are willing to "enjoy life in whatever manner they seek" and they are out there to find.
I believe that people (Men and women) need to develop appreciation before they will appreciate what is before them. In your case, men of any age could have this but those who have lived a little longer and seen a little more corner this market. So many people are so superficial and want what they see on TV, but don't have a clue about what a relationship is, or how to build or maintain one. In order to keep one of these happy you'd have to be a supermom, a super model and a superwoman. (A little more stress than I'd want). I wouldn't worry about the men who are disgruntled. Women are not to be passed around until they get tired. I think its great to fast forward to investing in a relationship that you feel is worth your time.

My man and I can answer this maybe. When I was your age I dated older men, but now that I am older he is 10 years younger than I am! it is just right. Do not care what other relatiopn, people think, go for what is right with you! Age does not make a difference unless it is under age! Men and women age alot!!! differently!!

Let's put this into a personal perspective with proof for all...put down everything you're doing RIGHT NOW and go tell your grandparents you would NEVER date an older male or female...

Then see what happens...

Age bias will haunt you when you're old...so, don't spread the fear...

Im 23. Im currently in a relationship with a guy that is 52. the reason I like guys 40+ is because what you see is what you get with them. Guys over 40 dont change. They are set in their ways and are alot more mature than guys my age. plus you can learn alot from them.

Another thing is that an older man will think you are best thing ever because you are young and fun and you will think hes the best ever because he will be able to do things for you that younger guys cant (like buy you a car)

I do not have a problem with anyone dating an older man or woman as long as you get along well and you love one another. My brother married a woman 15 yrs older than him and they get along great. She has 2 teenage children that my brother adores plus, his wife told me that my brother is the most mature man she has ever been with. Maturity does not necessarily need to be in someone older but it usually is. Just my 2 cents. Thanks.

it is okay. The most important thing is you.If you feel okay dating an older man, then is okay. Many women prefer older men for many different reasons. One is, because older men take responsibility about their young women. Also, they love their young women, exactly how they are. They do not criticize their young women, they take care of them. This is what young women say about older men.Good question. Good luck.
