I have just bought a dell ultrapotable off ebay,
and it came with no cdrom/floppy drive and no software and i need to install windows xp on to it. The only thing that i could come up with was to copy the whole windows cd on to my portable 40g usb harddrive then boot from it, does anyone have a better idea?

Sooner or later, you'll probably end up getting a USB CD/DVD. Might as well make it sooner.
