Search the sites suggested above. Also have a look in martial arts magazines. Be aware that quality swords are not cheap. Do not use a cheap immitation sword for cutting practice as it will break into pieces. Be sure to buy a quality handmade sword. I'm guessing that you want a Japanese sword. If you are, look for one that is folded and heat tempered. A quality sword certainly won't break cutting paper ^ lol

i've found that cheap swords are usually crappy swords. It's better to just save up your money and buy a really good one.
Some of the nice ones can still break though. My dad broke his first one by cutting a peice of paper and stopping the blade too quickly and it snapped right at the hilt from sheer momentum.

It all depends on what you're going to be using your sword for.

I have a few questions for you.... ; )

What do you mean by "cheap"? i.e. $100? $500?

What type sword? i.e. katana, broadsword, scimitar, etc?

What do you wnat to do with it? i.e. hang it on the wall, practice kata, cutting practice, etc.?

The answers to these questions will greatly determine what is available that is suitable for you. i.e. $50 for a stainless steel wall hanger katana is easy and reasonable....$50 for a sword you intend to cut with simply isn't going to happen.

Let me know...I'll check back here tomorrow...

Edit - Assuming you want a katana, and no more than $200, if you're going to use it to cut with, There seem to be two swords that might do what you need:

Paul Chen's Practical Katana:
http://www.casiberia.com/productsearch.asp?subsubcat2=yes&cat=Swords%20and%20Daggers&subcat=Japanese&subsubcat=Performance%20Series&cat2=Practical

and Kris Cutlery's Standard katana:
http://kriscutlery.com/japanese/japanese.html

Many dealers sell these swords. They retail for a bit more than $200, but they are well made and safe to cut light targets and mats with. Either will make a good entry sword.

Some advice:
1) Get competent instruction before you start using a sharp sword.

2) Ask your instructor which sword is best for what you will be doing.

A fast-moving sword is very dangerous, to both yourself and others. Be safe, and have fun!
