OK - There is a huge difference between Taser and Stun Guns!

They are both legal in almost every state. Check the reference below for more legal stuff.

Tasers - these pistol shaped devices manufactured by Taser Intl. fire two darts at ranges from 15 to 35 feet max depending on the cartridge used. Civilian model (M-18) is limited to the 15 foot cartridge. They use a high amperage so they produce only 50,000 volts. This is one of the most effective devices I have ever used. If the cartridge darts miss you can reload quickly or use the taser as an extremely powerful stun gun.

Stun guns - these devices require you to make direct contact with the target. They use a lower amperage so require a higher voltage. They range from 100,000 to 950,000 volts. They cause intense pain, momentary muscular contraction. These will give a great distraction to facilitate an escape. My personal favorite is the lady lite stunner, 650k at the link below.

Pepper Spray - a very effective self defense option. there is no difference between mace and most other basic sprays. If you want power in your spray go for DPS or Fox Labs.

Firstly, the right for guns is a Constitutional Amendment; it would take many Congressmen, Senators, and State Legislatures to overturn it, which will never happen (see the Constitution for complete requirements). Secondly, the term "black market" has nothing to do with race-a black market is just a term for illegal buying and selling of items, ie black market for drugs, for human trafficking, etc. Thirdly, the banning of guns would NOT decrease demand, the demand would stay the same. People would just get them in an illegal manner. Crime would skyrocket because, shockingly, criminals don't follow the laws. More people die yearly from car crashes than guns, so let's outlaw cars while we're at it.

I think the only one North American Police services use are Tazer brand tasers. They have 50 000 volts and just under one amp. They hurt like hell but do no permanent damage (except for the small puncture wounds from the probes, if they are used).
I don't know if these are the best but they work like a charm.

NOTE: They are illegal to possess in Canada (unless used by law enforcement).

Most law enforcement agencies use "TASER" M26 or X26 tasers. These are however usually for law enforcement and military use only. 50,000 volts will knock anyone off their feet.

Most civilian models you have to be up close and personal to use.

Mace is a better option for non-lethal force.

They are all junk....you have to get too close to use them. Get some good pepper spray. cheaper & less liabillity.
