It all depends on what it is? There are many different ways to take medicine. Inhale - ie: alburteral,nasel spray
swallow - ie: pills
drink - ie: liquid medicine
topical ie: cream ( wounds, scratches,burns)
Just a few examples.

Some medicine is injected or inhaled also. Pills are swallowed.
