One can preach what he believes, but giving thumbs down for just saying which religion one belongs to, is nothing but just Hypocracy. Its disgusting.

I agree. I get that a lot. Whatever. If those people aren't mature enough to understand that there are people that don't believe the same thing they do, I don't really want to interact with them anyway. They're not worth your time.

I have NO idea why, m'dear.

*** Steve T,

M'dear, you sound so very trusting and nice.

But let's look at the facts, here.

Folks have posted questions that are simply "To what religion do you belong" or something similar (asking for factual information only), and other folks here have given the "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" NOT because someone didn't give an actual answer, but because (one can only assume) they don't like the religion that the poster belongs to.

I was under the impression that the thumbs thing had to do with how well the poster answered the question, but that is very obviouly not how it is being used.

It is, by the evidence, being used in a small-hearted and petty manner; looking for agreement with one's own bigotry, religious or otherwise.

It's astoundingly immature to do that, imo, and not the least bit spiritual.

If you are talking about giving an answer or question a thumbs down, that just simply means the person don't agree. It is nothing personal. The thumbs down button is there so you can disageree with an opinion.. It is not persecution or hatred.

It is there if you think a question or answer is not a very good one. Thumbs down dose not mean someopne is trying to discourage another beleifs.

I don't understand it either. The worst part of it is that they all claim to love everyone. You would not believe the number of "friends" who have turned against me once they found out I was not a Christian. Kinda funny in a way, because it is my belief that everyone is entitled to believe as they wish! I guess some people are extremely close minded. I would never discard a friend because they did not believe as I do. Maybe because I truly believe that my religion is one of love, equality & social conciousness. NO ONE is better than anyone else. PERIOD!!

Ben Franklin once said never discuss politics or religion. He knew what he was talking about. It never brings people together it divides them.
