A probation officer's job is to ensure that the person on probation is not engaging in any type of criminal activity. Any type, whether it is doing drugs or hanging out with thugs who do criminal activity. They also do spot checks on their houses any time they want when they are on supervised probation. So, after that, the probation officer already knows that the person they are dealing with is a criminal. There is about a 70% recividism rate with criminals so of course, they are always thinking their person might be up to no good and it is their job to catch them at it.

no, it is his job to only to watch and supervise the persons behavior. He does not work with anyone but his boss.
