If you change out the water every half hour about 3 hours should do it.

It will still take at least a couple of hours. Make sure that you have water running over it. If you just set the chicken in a sinkful of water bacteria can form.

If you left him outside in the winter for more than an hour, it may take an hour for him to recover.
