Usually I just don't answer. Today they got me though. They were pretty cool though, not looking to talk, just handed me a flyer. I said "Thanks," closed the door, and threw it away. Fairly painless.

In all my years in the Ministry, going from house to house, I have never encounter a hostile disagreement face-to-face, as in your explanations that you give when a Witness comes to your door. You people have a fantasy mind, Hyponym: bubble, dream, fairyland, fantasy life, fantasy world, ignis fatuus, phantasy life, phantasy world, pipe dream, science fiction, will-o'-the-wisp, wishful thinking. Most of your explanations are nothing more than untruths. Which you have never said or did, you just like to toot your horn.

When I go from house to house, someone may tell me that they are on the phone, busy, or not interested, I simply say, “maybe some other time” and have a nice day, go to the next home, there is always someone that is nice & wants to talk about God's Word.

For those that say they come to the door “nude” all I would say is “you must be missing some brain cells” because no one in their right mind would deliberately come to the front door because of a Religious Organization knocking or ringing doorbell. By the way, each State has facilities, a building or place that provides a particular service, that take care of people like this, they are called a “Mental Institute.”

What's wrong with a kingdom hall. they just have a very thorough discussion of the Bible or what ever book they are studying at the time. Everybody puts their input.
And everybody complains about JW's coming to their door, but in the last 21 years I only saw one a couple of times. This year I actually got to speak to one; and boy it was very interesting conversation.,so I asked them to come back . I have been talking to them now for about 5 months.

For quite a while, I had them come in so i could ask them questions.

There were two sets of two ladies each that came regularly to my home. One of them finally caught on and asked me if I was interviewing them for some kind of project, and when I said, "Yes, it's for my doctoral thesis in Comparitive Relgion", she got huffy over it.

The other two I had to ask to not come back after a while.

BTW, they were lovely people, but I wasn't ever going to convert and I told them so.

Now I say "Thanks very much, but I'm very active in my own religious community. Have a nice day!" and I close the door.

If I am feeling kind, just ignore them, if not I pick up the intercom and ask why they ignored the sign that says "no religious callers" and then tell them they need to be leaving.

LOL - apparently "the end of false religion is very soon" - so they say, the source of this wisdom? Something written millenia ago.

Curious definition of "very soon" don't you feel :)

Just wish the nutcases would bother God privately and not keep trying to drag me into the mess.

I ask them how much time they want. I was told 10 minutes. I told them that I would let them in and give them 20 minutes, but I got the first 10 minutes to tell them about MY religion. They left immediately and never came back.
Funny how that works

I have opened the door and been polite to them, I even showed them my Bible and told them I appreciated their time, but wasn't interested and I told these guys that I already follow Jesus and they wouldn't leave. They kept wanting to keep talking to me about their info. Finally, the phone rang so I was able to make them leave and answer my phone. They saw my Bible on the table but still left me about 10 different pamphlets.

I answer the door, say hello, and listen politely to what they have to say. I make sure to tell them that I have no intention of becoming a Witness, but I thank them for their time.

I very politely listen to them and take their material, but not before saying that I'm happy with my religion and believe that Jesus died for me.

It's really not necessary to be rude. They are doing what they think they are supposed to do according to their beliefs. That's all.

That's called respect.
