My 3 and a half year old cat has just vomitted 3 times in a row, throwing up what looks like most of his food from today. He has now gone outside.
He has been ok today, it's been wet and windy outside so he has slept next to the radiator all day keeping warm.
For the last few days he has slept in our spare room, but he usually sleeps next to my feet at the bottom of our bed. It is odd that he has chosen to not even come in our bedroom in the morning to wake us up.
Im a bit concerned, can anyone help? Also, any tips for removing cat sick stains from a white carpet??

My cat has come back in and his purring his head off. Being very clingy, complete turn around from the last few days. He has eaten a small amount of his dried food and sipped some water and is now lying down purring. Think he will be ok.

Sometimes cats do that. Usually a hairball, or just ate too fast. Don't worry unless it contines for a day or two.

Usually when a cat vomits food, he either ate too fast or he has an allergy. Did you change his food? If it continutes, I suggest you go to the vets. And cats are always changing their sleeping habits, I know I have 15 cats and they never sleep in the same place twice.
As for the stains, dont put any type of cleaner on it, just plain water. Soap and cleaners just coat the stain. Soak it with warm water, rub it and sop it up with a clean dry cloth. Especially if your carpet is Berber.
Good luck

I would not worry about it to much. Your cat probably went outside to eat some grass. They do that when they have a upset stomach. Did you change her food brand? Just leave out plenty of water and food. If he is still ill in a day or so you might see or at least call a vet. Make sure there is nothing he could have gotten into.*anti-freeze, or rat bait poison. My neighbors don't speak English and they drained their anti-freeze into the ditch and killed 4 cats! Not to scare you just be aware of what your neighbors are doing

There are stain removers that you can buy in Pet sections. I like the Miracle (something) remover.
Take him to a vet. My cat was constantly vomiting and it took me a while to release that she was eating the crystals out of the litter. By the time I realized what was wrong the vet said it would have cost me hundreds, even over a thousand to get her well again. So I had her euthanized. It is best to take him to a vet immediately to avoid having to pay exorbitant vet bills or settling to euthanize.

He may have gotten into something that didn't agree with him or it could just be a hairball.
As far as stain and odor removal, there is an amazing product that we buy from our vet. It is put out by VET Solutions. It's called, "Carpet Stain & Odor Eliminator."
That has removed the most difficult stains from our pets - even really old ones.

I have 4 cats and it's not unknown for one of them to suddenly projectile vomit the entire contents of their stomach up at a moment's notice. He's possibly caught a bird and upset his stomach by eating bones. So long as the sickness doesn't continue over a day or so, I wouldn't worry about it. As for the white carpet, good luck.

sometimes cat by cleaning themselves swallow a great amount of hair and that makes them vomit. If he went outside is probably looking for "cat herb", it is a kind of grass cat eat to feel better when they get sick or just to flush their system when they feel like they are poisoned.
Another reason for vomiting could be that you fed him too much or else that he ate something bad for him...
Do not worry too much if he doesn't spit foam from his mouth he is going to be ok in 48 hours...if not take him to the vet..

It may be just a hairball. Take him to the vet to be sure. The vet will have to rule out kidney disease.
