I'd make 'em into a casserole but, on the stove top ou could heat your oil, enough to well cover them.
Make sure your oil is really hot (careful not to burn yourself) and the fry till golden brown.
Tarer Tot Casserole
2 lbs ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onions
1 (1 1/4 ounce) envelope taco seasoning
2/3 cup water
1 (11 ounce) can corn, drained
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cheddar cheese soup
1 (32 ounce) package frozen frozen tater tots
Cook onion and hamburger. Drain and stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes. Add corn and soup, mix well.
Transfer to greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
Put tater tots on top and cook at 350°F for about 35 minutes or until golden brown

I find that I get the best results by putting them in the oven. But if you can only cook them on the stovetop, use canola or peanut oil (they withstand high heat better), let the tots defrost for 20 minutes, then salt & pepper them. Drain well.

Ok, I hate frozen tator tots because of there flavor. I had to experiment with them and this is what I found. Take your tator tots out and let them sit for about 15 minutes before you do anything to them. Then sprinkle them with salt and pepper. Let them sit while you get your grease hot (about 5 minutes). Drop them in the grease and let them cook until they are golden brown. Take them out and sit them on a newspaper (it takes the extra grease out better than a paper towl) for about 3 minutes, then sprinkle them with a little bit more salt and dip in ketchup and enjoy!

do you have an oven?they taste best when baked.but if you don't have an oven, try using a little bacon grease when you fry them and do not cover the pan while they're frying(they will get crispier)and add seasoning salt, powdered garic or powdered onion!
