We were planted by evil aliens to slowly destroy the planet and all of the organisms in it. When this planet is done, humans will be planted in other planets until all life except for the aforementioned aliens will cease to exist. Nah. But we are killing our own planet, you cant deny that.
Edit: Oh god, I just KNEW that there would be Christian answers to this question!!!

Actually there is no evidence at all that we were put on this earth, only evidence that we are here. All available evidence suggests we were made in situ.

1 Thes 1:1 ...the church of the Thessalonians in God the
Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace.
John 14:20 In that day you will know that I am in My Father,
and you in Me, and I in you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words of Ministry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is a rather simple matter to say that the church is of God
or of Christ. But it is deeper and more profound to declare
that the church is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus
Christ. For example, it is one thing to say that we are of a
particular person. However, it is altogether another matter to
claim to be in that person. Humanly speaking, it is possible
to be of someone, but it is not possible to be literally in
that one. Only in a way that is organic and of life can the
church be in the Triune God. We do not adequately understand
the way of life, but God does understand it in full.
Furthermore, only God can do something in the way of life. In
a way that is organic and of life, God has made it possible
for the church to be in the Triune God.
For the church to be merely of God, it is sufficient that God
be merely our Creator. But for the church to be in God, God
must become our Father, and we need to have a life
relationship with Him. Likewise, for the church to be in the
Lord Jesus Christ, Christ must be the Lord and Jesus to us.
Believers may be familiar with expressions such as the church
of God, the church of Christ, and the assembly of God,
especially in the way they are employed today as
denominational titles. But not many have realized that the
church is in the Triune God.
Eph 1:5 Predestinating us unto sonship through Jesus Christ to
Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.
John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the
authority to become children of God, to those who believe into
His name, (13) Who were begotten...of God.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words of Ministry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What is it that God the Father desires? According to the New
Testament, the Father wants many sons. The Father's concern is
with sonship. In order to produce these sons, He has been
begetting children. With Him, there need be no limit to the
number of children. The more children He has, the better. God
the Father has a definite purpose in producing many sons. He
is not a foolish father, one without a purpose. God's
selection and predestination are according to His purpose.
This indicates that God is the unique initiator and originator.
Thus, for the church to be in God the Father implies that the
church is in God's purpose, plan, selection, and
predestination. No doubt, the church is also in God's calling.
The church in God the Father is the church in the One who is
the initiator and originator.
This understanding of the church in the Father is not merely a
matter of doctrine; rather, it has much to do with us in our
practical experience. A problem among Christians today is that
they have many different purposes and plans. There are
different initiators and originators. This is not right. We
Christians all should have the unique purpose, the purpose of
our Father. We should also have the unique plan of the Father.
Imagine what would happen if all Christians gave up their own
purposes and plans and had only one initiator and originator.
What oneness there would be among us all! There would be no
division whatever.
GOD BLESS
