if i get hired to be a nypd what is the first thing im gonna go threw?

It is hard, not very hard, you get used to most of it. For your other ?, it would be the Police Academy. Then any other "special" classes that NYPD needs you to take (Tazer/ASP certification) Then you would be a probationary officer (Just fancy wordage for new cop, whos with an experienced cop) then from there you would be a full time cop. Easy as it sounds, its not, but if you put your mind to it, you can. Good luck, study hard!

Being a cop in NY I would think is very hard. If I am not mistaken more cops are shot in NY than anywhere else. (don't quote me on that) I can only imagine that you will go through some intense field training. You will have to learn to harden yourself to all types of negative comments that every walk of life feel they have the right to say to you because you are now a cop.Get ready to get hated because of the job that you do. And get ready to not let anyone know what you do for a living.

You have to pass a civil service test in some areas, and you have to go through the police/sheriff's academy, before you can become a commisssioned police officer. There is also a physical and psychological exam which you must pass before you are accepted for training as a police cadet.

well it depends... im geussing you are in America. Im from Johannesburg South Africa and its really not just fun and games being a cop here. we once had two FBI agents come here that wanted to see what its all about here. that night we got into 2 shootouts with robbers and hijackers. they told us that 80% of cops in USA dont fire their weapon once in their whole carreer. MAD PLACE BUT I LOVE IT;) you get used to being shot at ALL the time.
