It has to do with the type of perm and what's in it. I had one perm and lost about half my hair.

Sounds like an over processed perm and a lot of breakage caused by this damage.
If she's getting patches, then definitely over processed. She needs to go to a proper hairdressers and get some deep conditioning done on the head. Also, she shouldn't be brushing her hair with a brush, but a WIDE Toothed comb which are made especially for curly hair as it won't damage the hair compared to a hair brush with bristles.

The perm solution was probably too strong, they may of left the solution on too long, or maybe she has had a perm on top of bleach, then it will fall out, sometimes it can be down to the fact the rollers were wound too tight, or the Neutralizer wasn't put on correctly, tell your wife not to have any more perms done, it will sort itself out eventually, but I think she will lose more before the problem gets better, she may have to have her hair cut shorter to give it a helping hand, If i were here, I wouldn't have any more perms again, there is absolutely nothing she can do to stop it from falling out I am afraid.

Hi, Sounds like your wifes hair has been overproccessed by the perm. I'd recommend getting some L'anza Protein Plus to replenish the keratin in her hair and some L'anza Trauma Treatment to further put protein in her hair. It is basically snapping because it is so damaged. Hope this helps

go back to the hairdressers who gave her the perm and complain. seems like the chemicals they used were too strong and they have burnt her hair and head. not only should they give your wife a refund they should also be able to fix the problem - or at least make it better.
your wife can also visit her doctor who can give her something to soothe her scalp and to stop the problem getting any worse.
hope all goes well for her.

Could happen for many reasons. Maybe it was permed for way too long. It dried up the follicles and killed the roots of the hair.

She may have a reaction to the process or it could have been left in too long. She needs to see a dermatologist immediately. She could have a lawsuit against the hair salon.

Sorry to hear that. I think she should go to the hairdressers and get professional advice because everyone's hair is different.
