Exposure to Benzene and other petroleum products can cause Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. I am planning to soak my hands in w-d 40 for 10 minutes/day hoping for relief, but I am concerned about leukemia and other blood diseases.

Don't soak your hands in WD-40! I have osteoarthritis in my hands and have found that the pain goes away by taking some glucosamine and chondroitin. These are in a medicine called Move Free. I have taken Move Free for years now and have not had any arthritis pain since taking Move Free. Also, you may want to wear some gloves while playing golf. This will help you get a better grip on your golf clubs without too much pain.

I know you are in pain that is hard to deal with. Just as nicotine & many other drugs can be absorbed through the skin into the blood stream. So can the toxins from wd40. This could lead to any number of problems including memory lose. You could very well add more pain in the near future. There has to be some other solution. Please think long & hard before doing this. There are natural products. Glucosimin is one. You can get it over the counter at any drugstore. They have it in rubs as well as pills. Have you tried any of them. Ask the druggist. I hope you can find some help.

One of my friends is a massage therapist and has a client that like to do cross stitch, but has painful arthritis. She massages her hands every 2 weeks which relieves her pain so she can continue to do her cross stitch. I think I would try that before soaking your body parts in strange chemicals that are NOT designed for that type of use.
