I have just been for a ultrasound scan that said it can see nothing wrong with me and my doctor has drawn a blank, it hurts especially after eating with really bad stabbing pains and sometimes hot flushes. Can anyone tell me what this is?

It sounds like an ulcer, but should have shown up with the ultrasound. Hmmm... I would contact my doctor again. I spent 4 days in the hospital last year with pains like yours, turned out to be a hiatal hernia. Good luck!

Ultrasound is just the beginning. That looks for masses, etc. Have they scoped your stomach yet? If the pain comes after eating the problem is probably in your stomach. An endoscopic examination will allow them to examine the stomach lining and take a biopsy of the tissue. It doesn't hurt. They give you a shot, you go out and then you wake up and it is over.

Stomach pain or bellyache may be caused due to a problem in the organs in the abdominal region. The main organs in the abdomen are the digestive system consisting of the stomach, small and large intestines, the liver, the gall bladder , pancreas, the appendix and the kidney. Minor problems like gastroenteritis can cause severe pain, while fatal illnesses like cancer may cause only mild pain.Causes, symptoms and home remedies for stomach pain is available at http://tinyurl.com/l9k9x

Sounds like your eating something that your sensitive to. It could also be perstalisis movements... sometimes I get stabbing pain when stuff is moving from my ascending colon towards my descending colon. Drinking more water and eating healthier always seems to help me...digestive enzymes helped too.

Have your doctor refer you to a gastroenterologist - a physician who specializes in the digestive system.
