I was recently given a, now, 6-week old kitten, due to her mother abandoning her... i've had her for over a week now... and she's been eating, drinking, sleeping, everything just fine... I believe it was yesterday my kitty seemed like she had a stuffy nose... she'd sneeze alot... but she hasnt today yet.. I dont think she can breathe much from her nose.. cuz when she breathes from it, it sounds like its really clogged up, and its kinda runny.. I know this is gross... but i've never had a sick kitty.. and its starting to scare me... cuz she hasnt eaten since this morning.. and shes been sleeping for most of the day... which she usually doesnt do unless its right after she's gotten done eating... She's already went to the bathroom and everthing, but she wont eat.. which is unusual b/c she never turned down food before, and its her favorite kind. My father said it might be pastorel pneumia??

Please help... What could it be? and can it be treated quickly? Any1 else have this happen? Thx.

Sounds like upper respiratory. If that is what it is, UNTIL you can get her to the vet it is important to make sure she is eating. If she cannot smell the food she will not eat the food. Get canned food and heat it up--make sure it is not too hot! if it smells really strong she will be more tempted to eat. Make sure she is getting fluids-water. When you or anyone else in the house has a shower have a hot one that makes lots of steam and put the kitten in the room. The steam will help to open up her nose so she can breath a little better and possibly smell better. Right now she feels crappy. Like anyone does when they are sick. When you take her to the vet they will be able to give her antibiotics that will hopefully make her better. If it is really bad they may want to keep her at the clinic and put her on IV fluids. It is important that you get her in as soon as possible but till then try to get her to eat. Again remember she needs to be able to smell the food.
Good luck!

I suggest keeping her in a tempurature-constant room, it helps with the throat thing, give her some more of the medicine (if you have any left) feed her formula or pureed wet food through an eye-dropper, (at the side of her mouth so she can't spat it out) and keep a litterbox or small bucket nearby. Also, make sure her sister doesn't have it. Oh, make sure she has no fever by feeling her throught. I hope poor kitty feels better!

Kitten - Vet - Now. I don't want to alarm you, but if your kittens only 6 weeks he/she may not last till Monday. Hang the expense and get the vet NOW.

The kittens needs a vet and some antibiotics. Most kittens get a URI and need treatment.

Take her to the vet. You may need more than a home remedy for your baby. Meanwhile, you can use a damp washcloth to clean her face.

Good luck!

Please take her to the vet as soon as possible. I'm no vet but we had a cat with similar symptoms and the vet said it was feline flu. It can be fatal especially in kittens. Please hurry. She may not last the night.
