No, eventhough it would save more lives and parts of it make sense and be a great idea. It would limit our jobs and young kids wouldn't be getting jobs at such early ages probably not til around 21. Plus, there would be too many kids living at their parents house til they are 21 because they can't get anywhere else.

I hope eventhough I went against your opinion I made you think about it the other way.

we are going to have a lots of illegal young drivers then. You can give people laws and rules but doesn't mean they will follow.

and limit drivers under 25 no more than 1100cc......be more specific. Because 1100cc on a motorcycle is very fast!

a car with 1100cc has a slower acceleration, but eventually it will travel up to the desired speed. And fatal accidents will still occur if a 1100cc car traveling 30MPH over the speed limit.

It's a good idea, but not logical...

yeah and while we are at it...lets increase the retirement age...let's put a camera in every home so the government can see what we do...let's just take total control of everyones daily lives.

I have a better aleternative. Let's just teach our children the importance of being a safe driver. I am in favor of mandated drivers education classes...and defensive drivers courses. But to raise the age and to limit what they can drive...no...what if they had did that when you was 16 and about to get your license. Each person is individual...and it is what they have learned from their parents...and society what is acceptable behavior in the car.

Young adults at age 16 either are or are not ready to drive. raising the age or limiting the type of car they can drive will only enable the courts to generate more income...and will also cause MORE over crowding in the jails.

You might save a few lives, but I am not convinced that most unsafe driving is caused by those younger than 25. You could also blame cell phone usage, driving while drunk, driving while high, not wearing seat belts, senile elderly folk, driving too fast, etc... Unfortunately, many such factors occur by people of all driving ages. I believe what would encourage less fatalities are safer cars, strict seat belt laws and severe penalties for any of the above activity.

Yes.

In fact: Insurance companies charge men more until they are 27 years of age. With everyone so concerned about equality, I'm sure the women would agree to a licensing age of 27 for themselves, as well.

That is a law that would never pass. It would be the only time you see every 18 to 21 year old person voting. Besides haven't we Americans had enough of our rights taking away, don't add more fuel to the fire. What needs to be done is to teach the children to drive better and to take responsibility for their actions.

partley a good idea. not so much because some of us have kids and need a bigger vehicle or for work we need a stronger car. I do think the driving age should be raised but you realy cant limit the vehicle a person can drive

Maybe we should make sure no one over 60 gets the same rules.
I've been driving since I was 10. I was even good at it.

HMMM, this is about the ONLY time I would agree with the youngsters who would cry: "It's NOT FAIR"!!!!!!

Around here, you need a car if you have a job that's more than 5 miles away, or a school too.
