Ok, there are a lot of misconceptions on this subject. No matter what state you live in, you cannot shoot someone for simply being on your land. In fact, if they are in your garage, trying to steal your car, and you shoot them, you'll be convicted of manslaughter at the least.
The standard for shooting someone has more to do with whether or not you are in immediate harm AND whether or not there was another option.
If they are in your home, yes it's fine.
if they are at your door, on the outside, then no, you'll go to jail.
Even in Texas.

I don't know if it's really legal- most of the people here say it is legal in the southern states- but why take a risk?
Landowners don't post those "Trespassers will be shot" signs just for a scare, ya know.

Don't tresspass and then you will not have to wonder. If you own no land to ride on then you are tresspassing. Go ahead....take a chance!!

Not really but if someone is hunting on thier own property and the tresspasser is where he should not be, accidents happen.
So you don't tresspass and you don't have to take a risk.

No way, unless deadly force is used against you, you cannot justify using deadly force against another person. This is true throughout the entire U.S.
