I just want to know whether American women date /like Indian men the same way they admire guys from other culture. I get mixed response for this question. Some people say it doesn't matter who you are or what race or you, if the girl likes you, she will approach you. But in many oocasions I have seen many american women turning their faces away or avoiding Indian men..Is there something that Indian guys are missing? I would like a honest answer for this question

it doesnt matter about race but most girls in America are worried about looks b/c most of us are shallow but their are American girls who look for sweet and kind guys and dont care what race you are. it all depends on the girl

Don't wait for the girl to approach you, you can approach her too. In some cultures, men are naturally more romantically agressive and women know right away the man is attracted to them. (ie. Italian and French)

Indian men can seem uptight and reserved and women may be hesitant to approach them thinking the man isn't interested. I once had an Indian man flirting with me and had no clue until one of his friends mentioned it later. Just be more direct!

Someone else mentioned the lack of casual clothes.....I think that makes a man easier to approach too.

Race really doesn't have to do with it. If you see American women turning down Indian men, it's probably just something about their personality. It's not possible for all American women to be turned off by all Indian men.

i assume you are referring to white americans females when you say "American" women.

anyways, just some off the cuff comments from me.

first off, when a woman turns their head away from you, don't assume it is primarily because you are an indian man. it could be because she did not notice you, is simply busy or, worst case, because you just happen to smell rancid that day.

anyways, you can't expect all american women to admire you. i believe that some won't give you the time of day, some will be indifferent and a few may even consider you as more than a friend. it all depends on the person, her upbringing and not necessarily her race or nationality. but more importantly, it depends on who you are as a person. do you treat them and others with sincerity, respect and are reasonbly charming and articulate? regardless of race, those are always good qualities to have and express.

i have overheard conversations from some women in the US as they talk about indian men (and women.) here are some of them:

- you tend to be very confident of your abilities (a good thing) but at the same time can come off as blatantly egotistical (a very bad thing).

- the hindu religion most indians practice may cause conflicts with their judeo-christian backgrounds.

- most immigrant indians speak with very distinctively pronounced accents when speaking in english; that some americans either find mildly amusing to downright irritating to have to listen to.

- bollywood dancing numbers confound and weird-out some women (and me.)

It depends on how you approach a woman, maybe your approach is off. I have two crushes at school, and they both happen to be indian guys. They're smart, I like their dark complexions, they are both extremely good looking, and they're both friendly but kind of shy which is a total turn on for me. American girls like all kinds of guys it just depends on the girl. Just pay attention to what girls want, if you see a girl check you out a time or two and smile at you from across the room, buy her a drink and say hi, but don't come on too strong. Let her come to you.

hi there. um, i actually dated an american-indian guy for a while and now we are good friends. for me, it seemed that our humors were very different and sometimes it was hard to have a good belly-laugh, but to this day, i still say he is one of the most beautiful men i know. :) i think it really depends on the woman you are interested in. ... hope this insight helped. :)

Depends. I myself am attracted to Indian men... depends on the girl. Also, I think some american women, because of 9-11, are afraid or cautious about people who have the darker skin/eyes/hair...

Just my two cents.

hey im an indian girl ( yes, from india... well sort of.. i was born and raised in california, but both my parents were born and raised in india..) and typically... i have seen that although girls usually DO get turned off by indian men, it's not because they don't like them.. I know that indians girls born and raised in America, usually ARE liked by american boys.. i've been asked out many times.. but indian boys.. they tend to have a "nerdy" aspect to them, that can just confuse girls, or make them uncomfortable. Now this isn't true for all indian boys, and men, but for indian boys who WERE born and raised or even just raised in america, ans their parents were BORN AND RAISED IN INDIA, they have a tendency to act a bit like people from india, because thats what they see at home, and they get used to it. still, however, they are more american than indian to indians, and more indian than american to americans. the problem is just the way they talk, and dress. many indian guys tend to be the smartest in their class, have a minor accent, or even wear tucked shirts whereas, the style here is getting more and more laid back, and indian guys, however hard they try, can't seem to be catching up.... and people who aren't shallow will see right through that, and like them for who they are. because they are diffent from "american people" and others will just have to accept that. and if you would like more detail to my answer email me..
