I bought a Mircrosoft Word package, with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Money, and Microsoft Works. Mircrosoft Word doesnt work and i bought it mainly for that. So I wanna return it. I still Have Mircrosoft Money and Works on my laptop, but dont have word. Will the place I bought it from know that i installed the other 2 and am returnig it?

Well they probably wouldn't know for sure but would suspect and what about the updates to the products? If you update them you could get caught and in trouble I'm betting. I would take it back and uninstall the other programs and get another copy or return your money, either way. Alot of places won't take back opened packages unless there is something wrong and they usually will only exchange it for another copy.

u could do that but now most companies have a program that will stop this happening. like if u have a computer game u install it but u still need the disk to play it. but again some craft ppl will copy the disk and try it that way .. and again companies have thought of this and have a protection program that stops it (the disk ) from being copied.

So to answer you question yes u can install a program and bring it back to the shop.
