Ok..party on a budget. First clip the coupons from your Sunday paper. You want it to be special and cheap. Set up a nacho buffet, buy yourself some canned hot dog chili(3.00per can), then get some can cheese(it will say nacho cheese), then get some different salsa and hot sauces. The trick to pulling this off is presentation and seasoning. Use some garlic, cumin, dehydrated onions, mild rotel sauce...this will season the chili. The nacho cheese take the can and add 2 cups of milk(whole) w/ a dash of nutmeg, heat it up slow like in a slow cooker. I suggest that if his friends are the wild sort, then put the buffet outside on a patio. If you do not like Mexican buffet, then do a grill your pizzas, buy the pizza crust in the frozen section, cook it off before the party, have your man fire up the grill, then have friends help with the chopping and dicing of veggies. Remember that cheese and meat are the killers to you controlling the cost, so just give like 2 options then just give them lots of veggies. They can assemble their own pizza, then put on the grill to heat it up. It is also an outside buffet.

Well bbq would probably be the cheapest (hot dogs and hamburgers), but since that's out I have some other ideas. I really don't know what you, your family or your friends like to eat so this is rather difficult. Hot dogs and hamburgers can both be done in the house without bbq and they are rather cheap as well as sandwiches. Pizza or pasta can be cheap and can stretch for several people. For sides you can use chips, fries, potato salad, regular salad, crackers, veggies or even fruit, etc. Best of luck, I hope it all turns out well and not too expensive.

THEYRE AWESOME AND QUICK. YOU REALLY JUST HAVE TO LET THEM GET NICE AND HOT. TAKES ABOUT AN HOUR. YOU COULD ALSO PREPARE ROTEL...3 BOXES VELVEETA CHEESE SPREAD, 1/2 GALLON MILK, BOUT 6 CANS DICED TOMATOES WITH GREEN CHILIS, UNDRAINED CUT VELVEETS INTO CHUNKS AND ADD DICED TOMATOES AND GREEN CHILIS, THEN COOK IN SLOW COOKER. ONCE ALL THE CHEESE IS MELTED, THEN YOURE GOOD TO GO. THIS DIP GOES GREAT WITH ANY FLAVORED CHIP. BESIDES, WHY WOULD YOU INVITE 200 PEOPLE. THAT IS JUST CRAZY. TAKE CARE AND GOOD LUCK. That's alot of people to take on by yourself financially. I mean, I know he's your boyfriend and all, but maybe you could go in with a few of his friends and/or his parents. buy a pathmark or any grocery store 5 pound bag of french fries
and deep fry them and put in a container and heat when time to serve
use 10 cans of bush's baked beans and heat and put in a container for serving
