Depression is caused by a lack, or decrease, in serotonin. I would ask a psychiatrist to prescribe a proper medication for me & if it doesn't work to try something else. Also, if the depression seem to stem from a specific problem(s), who should I see for treatment & advice as to how to resolve the problem(s). Note: I see a psychiatrist for control of my meds & a social case worker with a degree to practice therapy (it's less expensive than a psychiatrist or psycologist).
