You've already open the box and everything. Most stores (especially if they're smart) won't allow you to return it. You had to register that program. Microsoft will not allow you to operate any of their programs for a very long period of time until you register it. Let's just say if you were allowed to return it the next person who bought it won't be able to register and it won't work. Maybe that's why Microsoft Word won't work. Somebody before you used the same registration code. Which actually if you got Microsoft Word, Money, & Works all on 1 CD it sounds like you bought a pirated CD. If so I'd report them to Microsoft. You might be eligible for a free copy if it happens to be pirated and can prove you bought it from that company.

actually, software will only be replaced with identical media. therefore you will not be refunded. If they think there is a problem with the cd, they will replace it, other than that you will be out. I would really like to know, why did the software not work??
