How much alcohal can be in a drink before my 16 year old daughter will get drunk? She likes eggnogg but can't drink it because it has rum in it. And I absolutlely refuse to buy the ones without it. is it safe for her to drink? Same with wine coolers? Can they drink a small about and not get drunk?

She avoids drinking as much as possible, but wine coolers, and eggnogg are slight weaknesses for her. She will drink both, but only at certain times. Like when she is in our company. Wine on the other hand she drinks with certain foods like fish and steaks.

Why do you ABSOLUTELY refuse to get Egg Nog without alcohol. Buy some for her, and get yourself your kind. Quit boozin' the kids.

They can drink a small amount with out getting drunk. Like if she were to have 1 beer, or wine cooler, she probably wouldn't even feel different. I think she'd be okay drinking a little egg nog. It depends on how much she weighs also.

If you want to allow her to drink in your presence then there are a few tricks you might want to employ. First, water down her beverages. If she likes coolers then pour half of the 375 ml cooler into her glass and then top up the rest of it with whatever flavour it is (cranberry juice, lemonade, orange juice etc). Or pour a half ounce of liquor into her very large glass. Alcohol tolerence is based on a few factors... weight, gender and the type of alcohol, not to mention a built up tolerence based on years of practice. 1 drink is either: 1 ounce of liquor, a 6 ounce glass of wine or 1 beer but weight plays a huge factor. Technically 1 drink per hour will keep you below the LEGAL limit. At the end of the say it's all about safety, safety, safety.

Age is not the issue, you are considering letting your 16 year old daughter drink. You don't need to be her friend be her mother and let her know that she is to young. Sure she could start off slow with it now but she will have her alcohol tolerence built way high before she is 21. Then on down the line she could become an alcoholic. Be the mom she don't need it.

If you're just giving her one or two drinks, and it's supervised, then there's nothing wrong with that. In fact, this is perfectly legal. The amount of alcohol it takes to get someone drunk is different for everyone, but that won't do it for even the easier drunks. Hope that helps.

Her getting drunk would depend on how much she weighs. I'd say though, a little bit, like a serving or two would be all right (of eggnog or wine coolers) and probably wouldn't get her drunk.

The amount she can drink before getting drunk depends on many different things.

it depends from person to person. Alcohol tolerance depends on the metabolism of the person as well as the food eaten prior to drinking. If you eat a lot of bread and rice that will absorb alcohol allowing you to drink more prior to getting drunk

Alcohol?I've a specific opinion- it is not bad to educate your daughter, create a culture of the drinking as we have one for the eating, hygiene, talking etc. so she wont misuse it and get deadly drunk just because she doesn't know how and what to drink and just because it is forbidden.
It depends on her weight, metabolism, health, genes...too many things. But a glass (or two max) of whine or eggnog shouldn't make her sick.

i'm sorry, but i'm usually nice on these answers- but seriously, how idiotic can you be?! why in the world would you let your 16 year old drink?! drinking laws exist for a purpose, because drinking at a young age can do damage. do you want your daughter to go out and drink on the weekends because she thinks it's ok because you let her? oh, and by the way, if the authorities found out that you were serving alcohal to a minor you would be in serious trouble. is it really worth it?
