All my life I'm been very stressed out and depressed. Especially last year when it was the worst. Now that I'm a year older I learned how to cope with it and I'm now happier. But I guess I'm still stressed and somewhat depressed from my parents pressuring about future universtiy plans, extracuricular. My parents are nagging me constantly so I don't find a lot of time to de-stress. (It's very hard to do schoolwork partially because of that). (It's hard to meditate or to do yoga...because I don't get any peace and quiet). Any healthy (legal) tips on how to destress?

Self-hypnosis and visualization. You need about 20 minutes to sit with your eyes closed- undisturbed- to listen to CDs or MP3s. The ability to relax your mind and de-stress is a skill you can learn. Once you master it, you can go into a calmer state of mind - sometimes by simply counting 3-2-1. Like anything else, it takes practice.
Meanwhile, you can drink 2-3 cups of chamomile tea and breathe in for a count of 3, out for a count of 6

Let me tell you about a wonderful drug called Lexapro. I am in nursing school and was always stressed out and depressed, now I am happy and my moods are even. Try running also I do that and it helps me out.

I always find it to be helpful to do something mindless like playing tetris or poppit, something you don't have to think about too much.
