I want to start getting into drinking wine when i through dinner parties. I just recently bought a new house and i'm going to have them very often. Im wondering what are some good wines. Also, when buying wine what is expensive, and what is cheap? I really don't know much about it. Please help!

Good wines are what YOU like ! Nevermind all the snobs and wine shops telling you only the expensive ones are good, A bottle of table wine can cost anywhere between US$5-10,000. Most people start with whites and drink their way into the reds but it is not compulsory.
Nowadays, there are many wines from US, Australia, Argentina and Chile that are very tasty under $20.
Check your local community colleges for some basic wine classes which should help laid the foundations for actual tastings.

Basically you have table wines like red white or rosés, elsewise you have sparkling wines which are bubbly like Champagne or fortified wines like port, sherry etc...
Table wines are the most inexpensive
