I agree - there has to be a balance. I tend to fall to the side of practicality and sometimes miss the spiritual aspect.
I think this is one of the reasons God said not to forsake fellowship with other believers. I have friends that will nudge me or remind me sometimes, "hey you need to look at it this way" and I have other friends whom I sometimes have to remind, hey get your head out of the clouds, the answer is right in front of you :)
It is hard to stay balanced all the time and we often miss things that others can see- if we isolate ourselves, we run the risk of getting way off balance and making matters worse sometimes.

I don't think you find a balance, for how could one? When you jump off a fence, you land on one side only. If you are heavenly minded, then you are earthly good too, for they go hand in hand. Reason is a powerful tool. If God created the world as we know it now and His work is good and perfect, then we should not attempt to change anything, but many would agree that this world could be made better. If that is true, then God did not make whatever seems to be needing to be better, for His work is already made, good, and perfect. If He did not make the things that we see, then what on earth are they? Many choose to jump to the spiritual side of the fence as they gain understanding on their journey.

I believe in balance. What I hate is - as you have stated - being so heavenly minded that they are not doing anyone on the earth any good because they sit on the judgment throne. I know the type, the biggest hypocrites you will find, no joke. On the other side of the coin, there are the Christians who are so worldly, they think they are doing everything properly when in spiritual reality, they are fools.
So, balance is the key and stop trying to analyze every single thing that goes on. Sometimes like when you stub your toe, it's not GOD teaching us any lessons, we just stubbed our toe!
That's just a small example, I could go on and on, but it really is a moot point, I'm sure you understand what I'm saying.

Yes, I think so but I wouldn't necessarily call it Heavenly minded. There are very few cases of real "Heavenly minded" people. I personally know quite a few people who are just lazy (the sin of sloth) and try to hide it by pretending they are always praying or something but, they actually don't have a clue. When it gets right down to it, they are very Holier than thou but, they constantly talk about other people and are always looking for miracles of some form or another. I call 'em miracle chasers. They are pretty funny when you see what they are really like. And I don't mean funny ha - ha.

My mom taught sunday college at our church and additionally gave non secular talks and my father become deacon. We have been a common non secular, church going family individuals that prayed almost ten minutes a week. on the subject of the norm for countless the human beings interior the Christian Church we attended. She used to declare, "there are distinctive different issues as nicely God!" i might consistently tell her, "No there is not." God Is. each factor else seems to be. the visual allure of creation is merely that. it may on no account be understood with the help of staring at it from the senses. they're themselves in basic terms appearances and deform in accordance to the state of the middle and ideas that are doing the looking. to verify issues undistorted is to verify from interior of, on the source of Being that is Self. that is why Saint Francis ought to declare, "What you're searching for is who's doing the looking?" that's the Christ interior of that sees needless to say and the ego/ideas that sees issues distorted. Preachers who do not comprehend that is often heard to declare all varieties of nonsense. I as quickly as heard a preacher pontificate, "Our God is a God of abundance and that i prefer to verify Cadillacs and Roles Royce's in my parking zone." It become his parking zone too through fact the verify in front of the church had his call on it two times the dimensions of Jesus's call. No, we can't be too spiritually concentrated. the coolest we can do interior the international isn't something while in comparison with the coolest a Saint can do even while they're cloistered for his or her finished lives. that's the flexibility of Spirit interior the international that works the magic and not the flexibility of the particular attempt even with the undeniable fact that that still is significant and significant. A person that loves God with all his heart is going to do the things God told him to do which was be just loving and just to his fellow man. There is no such thing as being too spiritual or too Godly.

I think as Christians, we should worry about both - God creates our souls, so we should take care of them, and He also created the Earth, so we should treat it with respect as well.
