I say it just depends on the couple. When I met my husband, he was from the Netherlands, I was from the U.S. We had a long distance relationship for a year and a half before we got married. Between e-mail and phone calls...even with a 6 hour time difference we were still able to make it work. We got to see each other about every 3 months. We've been married for 5 years now! But my own opinion...I think if you're dedicated enough to the relationship it can work.

From experience i would say that the majority of time they don't work unless you are really committed to the relationship and making it work. It takes more effort than to have a relationship with someone close. Relationships are hard no matter what and putting the added stress of being away from one another is sometimes to overwhelming. so make sure that you are up for the challenge before getting into one. Good luck.

I think sooner or later, one of you has to be willing to move. It might not be able to happen for another few years, but the goal needs to be there, or else what are you 2 doing together?

I'm sure alot of people cheat, it doesn't make it anymore right. You have to set your own rules in any type of relationship, this is no different.

A friend of mine, she lived in Indonesia, guy lived in Canada. They met at a wedding in Canada. She flew back to Indonesia and they kept in contact through e-mails and phone calls. 6 monthes later, he went to visit her. Another few months after that, he went back again and brought a ring with him! She said yes, they got married, and moved back here. They've been married for 8 years and have 2 kids.

Mine didnt! We were together for 2 months and he moved off seven hours away and started sleeping with some hoochie....of course we were in high school...so he was a little immature biotch :) I think it depends on the couple. I have been with my current bf for two years and if he had to move away I know we could make it work because we want to be together and as soon as I could I would move with him.

I'm in a long distance relationship and it's hard, but I love her with all my heart and I've never cheated.

they do not work. and if they do, not for long. people will wonder whats its like to have a close realationship and will become less and less in love with that person. it sucks but its the truth. you cant keep something far from you alive for to long. its basicly a matter of time.
