Of course common sense is to build the muscles in your legs. But something most people don't think of is that good strong abs and upper body can really help. On an attack you really use your arms and upper body to thorugh yourself up. You can also go out and by ankle weights which I've been told work wonders. I personally use plyometrics which builds muscle memory. Just google plyometrics or talk to your coach or phys. ed. teacher for suggestions because there is many out there.

As I play, I try and stay up high. Be there more often , on my toes and by playing tall, if you will. In so doing I'll miss the divers but when I'm more agressive appearing because I'm staying up so often. It makes you play better, I think. Who knows. Hell, white guys just can't jump sometimes!

throw your arms back before you jump, then stick them up as you jump, it gives you more oomph. jump from your heels, but make sure your toes are still touching for a moment cause then you can have a double push off because u can push with u're toes as well as heels.

Swinging your arms upwards is a great way to get more momentum, and practicing with ankle weights can help.

you have to really squat down, and push yourself up if your doing a block. you have to make sure to bend your knees and then almost fully extend.
in an approach its a little different, you still need to get low-ish, but you have those few steps to propel you foward.
