As a high school physics teacher, I have told my students to ask any related question that comes to mind during a class, for there are no stupid questions. That does NOT apply here. Well, if I'm a good teacher and I do not understand the question, I would respond with, "Could you kindly rephrase the question so that it makes sense?" Now, THAT applies here.
