On my previous question about cookies and crackers purchased at Wal Mart tasting old. I should have mentioned that I checked the expiration on them. None had expired. Still they tasted sort of flat not really stale but not fresh either

Cookies and crackers that are not stored properly can taste old before their time, even if the expiration date still hasn't arrived. Wal Mart buys in such quantity that some of the stock is bound to sit around for awhile before hitting the shelves. However, Wal Mart has a very liberal return policy. Tell them the product tastes stale and they will replace them.

also on the package it may (in most cases it does) state; store in a cool, dry place which in transit may not have happened with your products. i have gotten bad deli meats (oscar myer type) prepackaged and well within the dates and when opened it was green. they took it back but i checked before i left that it was good.
