OK-
mixed flora means that more than one kind of bacteria grew. USUALLY if the urine is infected there is just one kind of bacteria. So having more than one kind implies that it was not a good specimen. The urine must have brushed against some skin on the way to the cup and picked up skin or vaginal germs (the vagina has lots of normal bacteria just like our skin). But 70,000 organisms is quite a lot so possibly the urine is infected AND contaminated with skin germs. This culture needs to be repeated with a new sample that is obtained carefully according to "clean catch" instructions.

It sounds as though your dog has a urinary tract or bladder infection. Spotting blood is a symptom and needs to needs to be treated as soon as possible. Also, if your dog is acting like she has to urinate all he time, or if you take her out to use the bathroom and she squats several times to pee , these are also symptoms of an infection. She may pee a lot or it may be a small amount each time. If you can't take her to the emergency vet in your area then you can take your dog first thing Monday morning. They can examine her and test her urine to see just what kind of bacterial infection she has and give her the right antibiotics to clear it up. It will take about 7-10 days to completely get rid of the infection and it's very important to give your dog all of the antibiotics because even if she stops having the urge to pee all the time she may still have bacteria in her system. Also, a way to help prevent these infections is to always make sure your dog has acess to fresh water. Keep a bowl on the floor, so that she can drink water whenever she wants or needs it. This way she won't get dehydrated and it will help to flush out any bacteria or toxins out of her system. If your dog gets too uncoimfortable or seems as if she's in pain, then you really should take her to an emergency vet clinic in your area. If she seems ok, just give her plenty of water to drink and take her out frequently or when she needs to go to the bathroom and be sure to take her to the vet first thing Monday morning. vThe sooner she's treated and given antibiotics the sooner she will feel better. Best of luck with your dog. Hope I helped

It means you have 70,000 various microbes (most likely bacteria, but possibly yeast) per mL (about 1/5 of a teaspoon) of urine.

They take a portion of your urine sample and plate it on nutrient agar, see how many colonies grown, and use that to determine how many microbes are in a mL of uring
