Why is it that we as a society put more effort into training people to drive cars than we do into teaching parents how to parent? I know we have voluntary classes, but nothing manditory. Cars are deadly - but parents can be too, when they are abusive or neglegent. So what are we? Are we too full of pride to believe that some extra learning to understand what goes into being a decent parent could be a good thing? What do you think?

There's a lot of concepts that we are yet to grasp. This brings up a very good point. It would be difficult to force people to not pro create and obviously inhumane. I think a bigger problem is the lack of responsibility of the parents, if people knew how to control themselves this wouldn't be a problem. Something needs to be done about this for sure, but we are too busy with other pointless agendas.

Well, there is a set way to drive but raising children has to many variables. Aside from abuse you cannot tell a person how to raise their children without imposing on religious beliefs, ethics and morals. Not everybody sees things the way you do and that does not make them wrong. What is considered abuse and neglect has gotten way out of control. People are already imposing their opinions and so is the gov. However, I agree with you to a certain degree, some parents do not even know the basics.

I don't get the question....

It's the PARENT's job to raise the children... usually it's someone else that teaches them to drive...

Each one puts in as much time as he or she wants to... Parents are going to be parents til they die... Driving instructors do not stay in someone's life forever.

Perhaps we should take it one step further and teach our children not to have children until they become adults (mentally as well as legally.)
