Hey, Noelle, where are the answers better? Parenting, friends, polls, grade schooler, or family? Seems like the answer "NO" is pretty much in all of them.

Even if you diaper them they might not go in the diaper anyways so you've just wasted money on diapers for nothing. My son was a year old when he stopped using diapers. I would take road trips every month to take care of my mothers stuff and would take the kids with me. He was good at going potty in the toilet and didn't wet the bed either but I thought that if there were no rest stops around and he had to go, what was I supposed to do. So I decided to put some pull-ups on him and go on that trip. Sure enough he had to go pee and I told him to pee in the diaper and he wouldn't for the life of him do it. He was yelling and screaming saying he had to pee and just wouldn't pee, so what ended up happening was that I had to pull over on the side of the highway and let him go.
What I do now is try not to give him a lot to drink unless I'm getting close to getting some gas. I also ask him before we leave, at every gas stop, and everytime it shows the signs that say "rest stop 1 mile." So don't waste your money on the diapers because they probably won't go in them.

Icky!
Better watch it ....they may want to go back to diapers because it's easier than looking for a bathroom.
I would NOT put a diaper back on my 4 year old for a couple of reasons. Number 1 she knows how to use the toilet....I trained her to get her out of the diapers and use the toilet..why would I put one back on her? Just to save a few minutes while on the road? We would have to stop every now and then to stretch and have a snack and whatnot anyway. We did go on a 6+ hour [one way] trip this past summer and she did very well. After 4 hours we stopped to eat and she was fine. You can make time for your kids to use the bathroom every few hours and it should be fine. Wouldn't you want to get out and go and perhaps stretch or eat?

Sound to me like you should not go on road trips with children or anyone else. save more of your time go alone. P.S. wear a diaper and save time and no extra stops.

I am guessing you are talking about children old enough - over 5?
If so, no diapering, its best to make the ground rules clear - we stop once every 2-4 hours and everyone goes - need to or not -
Everyone needs a breather on a road trip and its healthier to stretch.

This is one of the most bizarre questions I have read. If they are not teens yet I am assuming they are in grade school and that is way too old to consider diapering. I find it disturbing and sick actually.

i would say no. i would be afraid that i would be destroying any progress that i had already accomplished. potty training is about accomplishment it could be confusing to go back and forth.
