Anymore it seems that no one R.S.V.P's to parties.
Do you?

Absolutely. To be honest I find it almost rude not too. I had a Halloween Party for my son, I sent the invites out a month early. We had one rsvp. Then two days before the party I start getting phone calls. There was a total of 7 that rsvp'd, but 30 showed up. 30, no joke. Now if I hadn't been prepared for that, it would have been terrible. People base what they need on the number of rsvp's. What if I had only cooked for seven, or had only 7 goodie bags, punch for 7.

I also R.S.V.P. just because I think it's the polite thing to do no matter if it says to or not on the invatation. It's good to let the host know who is going to be there or not.

I will R.S.V.P. as requested. Most invitations now just say "regrets only", which simplifies things a great deal.

Always. It's the polite thing to do. I feel bad when we have something planned and more people show up than I planned on serving. I am happy to see them of course, but I want to be able to show the best hospitality that I can by having enough of everything!

i do R.S.V.P whether it is verbally or through the mail. It is nice to let your host/hostess know if you are coming or not. It helps him/her plan for things like food, drinks, activities etc.

I try to let them know either way.

Right now I sent out 9 invites to my son's birthday party, I've heard back from 2 moms for 3 kids (2 are brothers). It's very annoying.

RSVP is the right thing to do. Many people RSVP and then don't show up and thats not nice. For the events that do require RSVP, usually they are weddings or something that is formal and expensive to put together.

Of course because it helps the person sending the invitation an idea of how many people will be attending.

This is one of my pet peeves: When people do not RSVP. It is especially annoying when people think RSVP=Regrets Only. Yes, I do rsvp and I commend all who do for showing common courtesy.

Always! And I put an RSVP on my invitations, too.
