It is different for every person. The way I got closer to God was,
1) falling in love, with a fantastic girl
2) My job as a gardener
3) Spending time alone with the distractions of the world. I started exploring my forest, the woods behind my house. And God would show me things. Being in there, is one of the few times that I've actually felt God walking with me.

You have to speak to him like you would speak to your parents. The thing is that it's a little hard at first because you don't know how to pray. I suggest that you find a church in your community and try to fellowship with them. Churches will give you the tools and support to assist you in developing a relationship with God. Good luck.

sturdy question. many of the so spoke of as christian worldwide ignores the word of God. there is not any Scripture that announces pray a prayer and ask Jesus into your heart. Believing in God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ take a great pass of Gods word. occasion the bible says, "he that believes and is baptized would be saved and he that believes not would be condemned.
