A lot of weddings I've been to recently the bride came down to the same song the bridesmaids did, Cannon in D Or maybe they changed it up and when she comes down they go with Cannon in F.
There is nothing wrong with using a song that is more suited to you. Go for it!
I personally used The O'Neil Brothers Version of Here Comes the Bride, it was a piano version (very pretty). I hate Organ music.
Congratulations!

Not silly at all. Lots of couples choose music that better reflects their tastes. I performed one wedding where the Bride and Groom walked down the aisle together while all the guests stood and sang "God Bless America". Not a dry eye in the house...
You only get one chance to create this wedding ceremony. You might as well do it the way YOU want it. Better to have Uncle Joe and Cousin Shirley talking about how original the music was 10 years from now than to have nobody remember it at all because it was so.. you know... normal... ; )
Have Fun!

Pick somthing that suits you. It's a day about you two. Making your wedding special with little personal touches is always good. I walked down the isle to music from the movie Legend. Everyone loved it.

I walked down the aisle to just the guitar playing Up and Away by Dave matthews. Before hand, while the gueste were being seated he played htings like Bob Marley, The Beatles, Big Head Todd...etc. The wedding party walked down to Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles. Everyone really enjoyed it!!

I think my wedding is as far from traditional as it gets. My wedding is very country yet elegant...I will not get into details now (but if you want them feel free to IM me), but while I'm walking down the isle a mutual friend is going to be playing guitar.
Good luck!

I didn't do the tradition wedding march. I marched in on "Three steps to the alter" by Shep and the Limelites". The guest thought the song was funny but so appropriate for the occassion.

Not silly at all darling. Do what you like, it is your day! Ave Maria would be really some perfect alternative. After the ceremony, while party play Dancing Queen of ABBA.
God bless your love!
Congratulations!!!

Many are going against tradition these days. If you do that's fine. It is a moment that you'll remember for the rest of your life. So, make it special.

Not uncommon at all- if it suites you and your fiance better use it- i was thinking about using the most beautiful girl, or Sweet Lady....
both slow songs, not inappropriate.

No, I think it's a cop out NOT to personalize it. My bridal party and I walked down to Crystal by Stevie Nicks.
