Today.

8 cans of Kronenbourg £6 (special offer from local shop)
1 fish and large chips £3.50

Eighth can going down quite nicely as I type.

And 50 pence left over for the change tin.

I don't miss the "good old days" as I was either a foetus or a sperm

I'm old enough to remember when a small ice cream cone and coke were 5 cents, gasoline 25 cents a gallon, cigarettes 25 cents a pack and stamps were 3 cents. But then, the cost of living was lower right along with wages. It might be that it's proportionately the same now. But yes, those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end.....tra la la.........

Doesn''t it just make you incredibly sad? I remember being able to fill up my car for 8 dollars at 45 cents a litre.. Or being able to spend 50 dollars at the grocery store and not have to go back until the following weekend. It's a sad comment on human self-destruction. It's gettin to the point where a hundred dollars isn't worth much anymore.

Aye, I do. I used to go out around town and spend about £6 in the pub, ten bob for bus back, and get sausage chips and mushy peas from chip 'oil!

Eee, it wer grand.

Now, its more a £50 touch for a very good night out. Includes a real meal tho now, not staggering home with chips in me hand.

Where does the time go. Yes, yes and yes again.
Maybe it's time for another currency change.
