personally i dont believe in asking people to give anything up...they are who thay are and although things change when you meet someone...isnt that part of what is wrong with a lot of relationships...we start to expect things from each other and then we become these things trying so hard to please someone else that we forget who we were in the fiirst place...i think if people are left then they do what feels good to them ...its natural...and these things will all slide into place all by themselves...but im just curious...is there something that 'no way' would you give up? even if your lover walked...

Just my children and my dog.

But I would be very worried if anyone wanted to change me or the way I live as a condition of having a relationship with them.

Sounds a bit weird and control-freaky to me.

definitely ... but

I would not ask my partner to give up anything ...unless it was harmful ... as I try not to be controlling .. just forceful ;-0

But .there is nothing wrong with a bit of compromise ... ie.. going out with partner as well as friends ..(and not just friends) etc. ...lol
... because in a relationship ..(at least initially) things will change and there is nothing wrong with a request... as long as it is a request!!

but if it involves giving up things that are dear to me (which I am not going to divulge)... or it is a demand ... then that will not be tolerated ;-))

but my partner would probably know this about me ...

Realistically there is not any actual thank you to be arranged for each thing you'll be able to desire to be arranged for specific issues , that's large, yet there'll continually come something you weren't arranged for at one time or yet another on your existence!

my independence i feel its really important to have your independence as a woman. Also my career. I would if i fell in love and got married and had children have a years maternity and then go part time when the kids are young but i would never give up my career or independence overall.

Kind Regards

I can answer it when the situation arises. My uncle gave away his love for badminton for his wife - it was a big deal in this case. So does a lot of people I know. Relationship is based on such sacrifices, from both sides.

my husband loves me the way i am and would never ask me to change
there are lots of little things that annoy us both about each other but not enough to cause a problem
if you gave up something for your partner you could end up resenting them later on

I wouldn't give up and any of my values or religious beliefs. As for material things, I'd have no problem with just about anything.

Depends on the situation, I guess.

If it's something that I could give up without too much of an interference on my happiness and livelihood, then sure.

My little girl. I was completely in love with this guy and we had a baby, he couldn't handle it and made me chose between them. I didn't choose him. How can you give up a part of yourself?
