yes you can
first you have to one of your logical drive for linux
using admenstrative tools -->computer management-->storage

then use linux cd which should detect the free space
and the installation should be simple and it will detect other operating systems exist on your pc

you need more ram for one. 256 is MINIMUM for xp. It is possible but there are problems with doing two oses at the same time. The first problem you will have is partition if you are on an NTFS partition Linux will not work for it. (80 gb hd is too small as well) . I recommend getting at leats 1 gb of memory and at least a 300 gb hard drive.

Your system requirements are just too weak for anything this serious and when Vista comes out in tow months you need soem serious upgrading.

u need not to configure or do something great or technical for this
simply install Xp if u already have this on ur computer u need not to . using the disk management function in my computer management>disk management
and create some free space on your hard disk
make sure u dnt make up a partition for that space
now using the linux's boot disk 1 boot the system and follow the procedures that are not so technical one can easily follow this simply by reading
and you are u done when u finish the installation of linux
when u boot up ur system next time u will see a boot selection screen with listing of two operating systems on ur computer and u can select one out of it
